Counsellor/ Psychotherapist – Full Time (Chinese Speaking)
Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Therapeutic Sessions: Conduct individual, couples, and group therapy sessions using techniques based on evidence based psychotherapy theories tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Client Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments to understand clients’ mental health needs and craft personalized treatment plans.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention for clients experiencing acute distress or crisis.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other mental health professionals and support staff to ensure holistic care.
  • Case Discussions: Participate in regular case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings to refine treatment strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Counselling.
  • Valid professional licensure and registration in Malaysia.

Administrative Coordinator (Full-Time)

We seek a highly organized, self-directed Administrative Coordinator to serve as the central hub connecting mental health professionals and clients. This role is ideal for independent workers who thrive with minimal supervision. You’ll manage administrative operations, client communications, payments, and confidential records while ensuring seamless support for our care team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administrative Support & Operations:
    • Manage office supplies, correspondence, equipment, and workspace organization.
    • Work autonomously to prioritize tasks with limited oversight.
  2. Client Liaison & Scheduling:
    • Serve as primary contact for clients: schedule sessions, answer inquiries, and relay information.
  3. Payment Processing:
    • Handle billing, invoicing, and payment tracking with accuracy.
  4. Record Keeping & Documentation:
    • Maintain confidential client records (treatment plans, session notes, insurance data).
  5. Case Coordination:
    • Support client intake/discharge processes and coordinate with external agencies.
  6. Communication & Follow-Up:
    • Facilitate clinician-client updates and conduct progress check-ins.
Work Schedule & Expectations
  • 45-hour weekly commitment with reasonable rest times.
  • Weekend/public holiday availability required.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Psychology, Business Administration, Office Management, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • Fresh graduates welcome! Administrative/case management experience (especially in healthcare) preferred.

Counselling Intern – School Setting (Postgraduate)

Duration: 3-6 months

Are you passionate about making a real impact in the lives of students, teachers, and staff? Do you want to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a vibrant and supportive environment? Greyspace Mental Health Services is looking for passionate and dedicated Intern Counsellors to join our team, providing exceptional counseling services at our partner International School in Mahkota Cheras.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Individual Therapy: Conduct 1-to-1 therapy sessions, offering personalized support and guidance to students, teachers and staff.
  2. Group Therapy: Lead group therapy sessions, fostering a collaborative environment for students to share and learn together.
  3. Psychoeducational Classes and Workshops: Design and conduct classes and workshops to educate students on psychological well-being and essential life skills.
  4. Student Support: Help students develop study skills, manage academic stress, regulate emotions, and improve interpersonal relationships.
  5. Teacher Assistance: Support teachers with classroom management and student disciplinary issues, enhancing the overall learning environment.
  6. Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with school management and teachers to ensure the welfare of students, keeping all relevant parties informed and involved.

Required Commitment:

  • Minimum commitment to this internship program 3-6 months. Candidates who are able to commit for 6 months will be prioritized.
  • The candidate is expected to commit to a five-day work week. This includes fulfilling duties during schooling hours at the international school for five full weekdays, alongside attending supervision sessions at Greyspace Mental Health Services outside of schooling hours. Interns are not required to be present during school holidays.

Criteria:

  • Candidates should be undergoing their internship module to fulfill academic requirements for a Master’s in Counseling approved by Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia.
  • ⁠Fluency in English and Mandarin is preferred.

Internship (Undergraduate)

Position Summary

This internship is a unique chance to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a professional mental health setting. As an intern, you’ll work closely with our team of mental health professionals, playing a vital role in various aspects of our mental health services. This is your opportunity to grow, learn, and contribute to the well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and facilitation of therapy sessions, including setting up materials and ensuring a comfortable environment for clients.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, client follow-ups, and managing client records.
  • Participate in case discussions and contribute to treatment planning with guidance from experienced practitioners.
  • Create social media posts to raise awareness of mental health and promote our services.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of mental health workshops and community outreach programs.
  • Perform literature reviews and research on relevant psychological topics.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions.
  • Provide support to clients during sessions, such as helping with therapeutic activities and exercises.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong interest in mental health and counselling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps (Google Calendar, Google Meet, Google Sheets etc) .
  • Prior experience in a mental health setting is a plus, but not required.
