‘Sometimes we need someone to stand beside us and help carry the lantern in the dark.’
Haydn Shamir Hagstrom
In a world that doesn’t slow down, it can be difficult to take your foot off the accelerator. We all encounter moments when the path ahead feels uncertain and confusing, even the strongest amongst us cannot be expected to find the way in the dark.
I believe that therapy is having someone willing to clear the darkness, ask the right questions, and support your journey without judgement. Together we can unpack difficult emotions, feelings and moments to help find the path that feels best for you. Together we can help each other make sense of this confusing thing we call life.

My Style & Professional Counselling Approach
Cognitive Behaviourial Therapy (CBT)
My approach to working with you is built upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with influences from Existentialism and Attachment Theory. I believe in holding both rationality and emotion together, recognising that understanding our thoughts and experiences can help us create meaningful change.
In a world that is constantly demanding of you, strain can occur both of our wellbeing and our relationships. Sometimes there’s no space to pause and reconnect with who you are and in that, life can begin to feel blurry and confusing. Life becomes difficult when we feel trapped by its insensitivity.
That’s why therapy to me is about supporting you, it isn’t about fixing what’s broken or giving you advice. It’s about creating a safe and healthy conversation where we can lay all your cards on the table, arrange them neatly and see what comes up first. In this we can see you more clearly, your thoughts, your feelings and your life. While we can’t predict the future, we can help you lay the foundations for the life you want to live.
In our sessions, we’ll begin by getting to know you, the reasons that have brought you here and the world in which you live. We’ll explore your story, your experiences, your understandings, and the different parts of yourself that have shaped where you are today. My goal is to see you for who you are as a whole and as a person. From there, we can focus on your goals, your self-discovery, and the steps we can take together to help you build an environment and a way of living that feels more aligned with who you are. We each find our way through the world by a path uniquely our own. My aim is not to lead you towards another road, but to help build yours brick-by-brick, leading to new places where new understanding may be awaiting discovery.
