‘Do Nothing Together’
Sheryl Leong
In a world that constantly glorifies hustle and traps us in endless cycles of productivity, I believe there is profound therapeutic power in simply being present. “Doing nothing together” is not about apathy; it is an active, intentional form of shared emotional rest. Whether it is holding a safe, quiet space for a client in the therapy room without the immediate pressure to “fix” anything, or just sharing a quiet afternoon with loved ones, removing the demand to perform is incredibly restorative. It is the ultimate expression of acceptance, giving each other permission to step off the treadmill and just be.

Personality
- Calm, creative, and grounded.
I value authenticity over perfection and strive to bring a patient, non-judgmental presence to every interaction.
My Style & Professional Counselling Approach
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
My therapeutic approach is integrative, collaborative, and intentionally unhurried. I focus on helping clients untangle their self-worth from their productivity.
Because healing and self-discovery do not always happen through traditional talk therapy, I actively incorporate expressive and creative techniques such as play therapy, expressive arts, and metaphoric cards. These tools help bypass the pressure to articulate feelings perfectly, allowing clients to simply be present and explore their inner worlds at their own pace.

Professional Work Experiences
Before dedicating myself fully to the counselling field, I navigated the demands of the corporate world as an Operations Manager. That experience gave me a firsthand, pragmatic understanding of workplace dynamics, systemic burnout, and the toll of chronic exhaustion. Today, my clinical work focuses on managing structured counselling cases and designing comprehensive psychoeducational interventions. This includes developing and delivering full-scale workshops and speaker kits specifically focused on the mechanics of rest and navigating modern productivity traps.
